Artist

Defying any traditional categorisation, artist TRADEMARK has been applying his instantly recognisable painterly techniques to the art, fashion, music, clubbing and assorted other industries for some years now in a direct example of the famous ANDY WARHOL maxim that 'the best art is business art'.
primarily a painter, who's razor sharp acrylic and oil on canvas works have been widely exhibited and are in the collections of many prominent entertainment industry figures, TRADEMARKs first commission, in 1986 was to create a hand painted t'shirt for world famous pop artist ANDY WARHOL, he then went on to define the visual ethos of the new gay society that exploded onto the streets, clubs and bars of soho in the early 1990s and create the original visuals for ground breaking super club TRADE, thereby acquiring the moniker TRADE- mark, this lead to campaigns and commissions for, amongst others ABSOLUT VODKA, BOY GEORGE, MARC ALMOND and DAZED AND CONFUSED and for numerous large scale "DISCO-DECOR" paintings for club events in london, new york, ibiza and los angeles before ultimately the assignment for WILLIAM BAKER to paint the imagery for the new B BOY underwear brand as well as a series of portraits of KYLIE MINOGUE which were exhibited as part of the KYLIE exhibition at the V&A and in the "fellow travellers" show at the salford museum and art gallery, manchester.
TRADEMARK's work has been featured in several books including HOMME masterpieces of erotic photography from carlton books, DIANA IN ART by mem mehmet and upcoming titles MINE, NIGHT TIME a visual diary of the new art of the club flyer, by former DAZED AND CONFUSED art director CRAIG Mc CARTHY for thames and hudson and THE MALE NUDE-NEXT for rizzoli new york.
